Tajami › What you sell

What you sell

Not everything is a dress with a price tag.

A food vendor’s prices never change, but what is left changes by the hour. Beans are sold by the paint. A cake has no price until somebody says what they want. And a herb or skincare seller is asked what it does, not what it costs. Each is answered the way it is actually sold — and one of them is a safety rule, not a setting.

An open-air market, with clothes piled on tables under pale blue tarpaulin shades.
Catalogue

A price, a size, what is left — and no photo is fine.

The shape it was built for: a named product with variants and stock. Products are found by name, by the words your customers use for them and by the post they were asked under — never by the picture — so a product with no photo is answered just as well.

  • A card where there is a photo — plain text where there is not. Never a broken card or an empty frame
  • Never a stock picture — and never another product’s photo standing in
  • The payment link still carries it — name, variant and price, clearly, with no gap where a picture would be
  • Asked once to add a photo — because they sell better, and then never again

Sold by measure

A bag of beans is not just twelve paints.

Beans by the paint, pepper by the mudu, herbs by weight. Each measure you sell in is a unit with its own price, set by you — because local measures are not arithmetic, and a price worked out from one to another is confidently wrong.

  • Local measures, first-class — paint, mudu, congo, derica, kg, bundle, bag, in the spellings your customers use
  • Each unit priced on its own — a bag is never worked out from the paint
  • Half a paint, only if you sell it — otherwise it says the smallest you sell
  • Never converts between measures — asked in one you do not sell in, it comes to you

Herbs, supplements & anything ingestible

What it costs, it answers. What it does is always you.

A customer asking about herbs rarely asks the price. They ask does this cure typhoid · e fit help fertility · can a pregnant woman take it. Tajami never answers a health question — not carefully, not with a disclaimer, and not by repeating your own words. You may answer however you choose. It will not be automated.

  • Never a health answer — what it treats, cures, helps, prevents or is safe for always reaches you
  • No setting, no override — unlike haggling, nobody can switch this one on
  • Over-sensitive on purpose — a false alarm costs you one tap; a wrong answer could cost someone their health
  • Pregnancy, children and medication first — the most sensitive questions go to the top of your list
  • Price, quantity, availability and delivery — still answered for these products, and nothing else

Skincare & beauty

It tells them the shade. Never what it will do to their skin.

A skincare customer asks will it clear my dark spots · e dey bleach · can I use it while pregnant. The first is a claim, the second a regulated one, the third a safety question — and none of them is answered for you. Price, size, shade, scent and stock still are.

  • Two tiers, set per product — makeup, perfume and wigs on one; creams, serums, soaps and oils on the stricter one
  • Never what it does — clear, fade, lighten, glow, grow: every one of those questions reaches you, with no drafted reply
  • Safety first in your list — pregnancy, children, allergies, or a reaction already happening
  • Ingredients from your label only — read back as printed, and it never says a product does not contain something
  • “Is it original?” in your words — quoted from what you wrote, or it asks you
  • “Which shade suits me?” comes to you — with suggested replies, because it is your judgement

Made to order

No price until they say what they want.

Cakes, tailoring, catering, furniture built to spec. It never quotes. It answers the questions around the order — do you make these, how long does it take, where do you deliver — and gathers the brief, so you arrive at the conversation with the details already in.

  • Never a quote — wanting to buy something made to order always comes to you
  • The brief, gathered — what, when, how many, and for what occasion
  • A “from” price is a starting point — said as one, never as the price
  • Your quote becomes a link in one tap — with a deposit now and the balance on delivery

Services

The price, how long, and a deposit.

Salons, spas, repairs, consultations. A service is a price and a duration, with no stock to count. It answers both, and the time is arranged by you.

  • Price and duration, answered — set once per service
  • Booking a time reaches you — for now, a time is arranged by you, not a calendar it guesses at
  • Deposits, because no-shows are the cost — part now, through the same payment link

The health rule is built first. Health and cosmetic claims are regulated by NAFDAC, and an automated claim in your name, at scale, is a risk to you and to the person asking. So it is the first thing built, and nobody selling anything ingestible, or anything for the skin or hair, is onboarded before it is in place. The rest follows in this order: answers with no photo, made-to-order briefs, menus and extras, measures, then service hours and deposits.

Some things it will not do. Prescription medicines are not supported at all. For sexual-enhancement and weight-loss products it answers the price and delivery and goes no further, and it never makes an ad for them. Alcohol, tobacco and vapes get their questions answered, with no ads in this first version.

The ads follow the same rules. A food ad pauses itself when you sell out. An ad for herbs or a cream says what it costs and never what it does. A price by measure always carries its unit, and something made to order is never advertised at a price it does not have. Campaigns by what you sell →

Setting it up

One question: what do you sell?

Six plain choices at the start, then one yes or no: do you sell anything people put on their skin or hair, or eat, drink or take for their health? They set sensible defaults and lock nothing.

01

Asked once, in plain words

Pick every one that applies. A vendor selling jollof, zobo and foodstuff is normal, not an exception.

02

Per product, not per shop

So a mixed shop works: the dress is a catalogue item, the beans are sold by measure, the cake is made to order.

03

Suggested from your posts, confirmed by you

It proposes what each product is from how you already sell it, and never assumes. Where it does not know, it treats it as a catalogue item — the most careful default.

04

On the body or in it, it stays marked

Once a product is marked as something people eat, drink or take, or put on their skin or hair with a purpose, its rule applies for good. It cannot be lowered without a person at Tajami reviewing it.

Not restaurant software. Tables, covers, courses and kitchen screens belong to software built for dining rooms. A vendor selling jollof through Instagram is not running one, and Tajami does not pretend they are.

Questions

If you do not sell dresses.

Can I switch off the rule on health questions?

No. There is no seller setting, no admin override and no exception. For herbs, supplements and anything ingestible it answers the price, quantity, availability and delivery. What a product does to a person is always yours to answer.

I sell skincare. What will it answer?

Price, size, shade, scent, stock and delivery. Whether it is original, only in your own words. Ingredients, only as printed on a label you have entered. Anything about what a product does to someone’s skin or hair, or whether it is safe for them, comes to you with no drafted reply — and safety questions go to the top of your list.

Is there anything you will not take on?

Prescription medicines are not supported. Sexual-enhancement and weight-loss products get their price and delivery answered, and no ads. Alcohol, tobacco and vapes get their questions answered, with no ads in this first version.

My menu changes every day. Do I have to keep updating it?

One tap each morning sets what is on. Sold-out dishes come back overnight by themselves, and if you have not set today’s menu it says let me check rather than promising yesterday’s.

Will it work out the price of a bag from the price of a paint?

Never. Each measure has its own price, set by you. If a customer asks in a measure you do not sell in, they are not given a converted guess — the message comes to you.

Can it quote for a custom order?

No. It gathers the brief — what, when, how many, for what occasion — and hands it to you. Your quote becomes a payment link in one tap, with a deposit if you want one.

Can customers book an appointment?

Not yet. It answers the price and how long it takes, and the conversation comes to you to arrange a time. Deposits work from the start.

I don’t have photos of everything. Is that a problem?

No. It answers in text. It never uses a stock photo or another product’s picture, and it asks you once whether you want to add one.
